Jonathan S Hooper is the only Cornish-born painter amongst the Gallery's contemporary artists. Concerned with the mechanics that create his evocations of place, Hooper’s paintings convey the idea that landscape is something to be ‘in' and not simply to be observed. 'Gorse Dawn, Lundy Bay' is inspired by Hooper’s favourite walks along the coast near Pentire Point.
