Polzeath is a small village on the coast of North Cornwall and has strong associations with the poets Sir John Betjeman and Laurence Binyon. Mitchell frequently titled sculptures after Cornish places to enforce the affinity of his works with the landscape and the inspiration he drew from it. The structure of Polzeath is both monumental and balanced, the reflective surfaces attracting the viewer to engage with the relationship between space and form.
