Biography

A contemporary British abstract artist who was born in High Wycombe, where he stayed to attend the local School of Art 1962-66 before moving to London’s Camberwell School of Art, 1966-69 and the Slade School of Fine Art, 1969-71. He showed in British Painting 1974 at the Hayward Gallery in London in 1974 and British Painting 1952-77 at the Royal Academy, London in 1977.

 

His first one-man show was at Acme Gallery, London in 1976. Since the 1980s he showed regularly  at Nicola Jacobs Gallery and then at Flowers East, London from the 1990s. He was included in Art Crazy Nation, Milton Keynes Gallery in 2002 and more recently held solo exhibitions at Clifford Chance, London, The Nine British Art, London and The Lanchester Research Gallery, Coventry.

 

His work is held in public collections including the Arts Council of Great Britain, the National Gallery of South Africa, the Pompidou Centre, Paris and the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge.
