Peter Joyce was born in Poole, Dorset, and was educated in Bournemouth before studying Art and Design at Stourbridge College. He began exhibiting in 1991 with Anthony Hepworth Fine Art and subsequently showed at numerous galleries throughout the UK, including London, Bournemouth, and Cambridge. His work is held in many corporate and private collections and several public galleries, notably Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum and Hampshire County Council.
In 2004, he moved his studio from South Dorset to Bouin, in the Pays de la Loire region on the west coast of France. Here, he continues to paint his observations of landscape, season, and daily experience of living close to the sea.
