Notes from the artist:
From the mid-1980s I switched to oil paint and one week after the September 11 attacks, I was involved in an exhibition in New Orleans. During an evening walking in the French Quarter, the light began to have an exquisite effect in the street, on surfaces. Several sensations triggered colour feelings and the desire to return back to my studio to reflect on those surfaces, to emphasise paint colour and quiet movement.
