Although Inlander's earlier and later work referenced the landscape there were a series of paintings from the 1960s where abstraction overruled tradition. Revelation was part of a group of nine individual studies with figurative beginnings that had been re-worked as if to disguise their origins. Some thirty-five works are in public collections in the UK. Most similar in date and concept, is Awakening Landscape 1963 in the Government Art Collection.
