ST IVES, MODERN BRITISH & CONTEMPORARY
The Nine British Art was founded in 1977 on the Fulham Road. In the early 1990s, we moved to a small gallery in Masons Yard - our first move to St James's in central London. Finding the space too limited to display more significant artworks, in 2006 we took over the lease at 9 Bury Street and traded there until 2024. Whilst at Bury Street, we held numerous exhibitions of modern British, post-war, St Ives, and contemporary art. We recently moved to a third-floor showroom in Pall Mall, which is open by appointment, Monday - Friday, 11am - 5 pm.
From the outset, we recognised the talent of many undervalued artists, such as Frank Avray Wilson, Trevor Bell, Sandra Blow, Alan Davie, Paul Feiler, Terry Frost, Roger Hilton, John Hoyland, and Alan Lowndes and we continue to champion many of these artists today. The gallery actively promotes the work of our contemporary artists alongside established modern British painters and sculptors.
As a member of The Society for London Art Dealers, we offer professional consultancy and guidance to new and established collectors.
