Focusing on the last decade of his career, when he was arguably at his most prolific and capable, the thirty paintings in this exhibition are a culmination of his own statement that, ‘every finished picture is a study for the next’. This continuity is visually reflected in Haigh’s consistent exploration of shape and colour, resulting in dynamic structures which exude pictorial presence.
